How Adria Basketball d.o.o. collects and processes personal data in connection with the Adria Basketball Youth Tournament, and what rights you have.

Who the controller is

The controller of personal data is ADRIA BASKETBALL d.o.o., company ID 35499830753, the organiser of the tournament.

Registrations from the form on this site are received at registracije@adriabasketball.com.

What we collect

The team registration form collects only what we need to run the tournament and book the accommodation:

team name, gender, age group, division, number of players and number of staff,
club name, address, city, country and tax number,
name, phone and email of the coach or team manager,
chosen hotel category, whether you need local transfers, and your notes.
Photographs and video are also created at the tournament itself, see section 4.

Why we process it and on what basis

Each purpose has its own legal basis under Article 6 of the General Data Protection Regulation:

Processing the registration, preparing the offer and contract, scheduling games and booking accommodation: performance of a contract, Article 6(1)(b).
Communicating with you about the tournament: performance of a contract.
Issuing and keeping invoices: legal obligation, Article 6(1)(c).
Photographs and video, see section 4: consent or legitimate interest, depending on the type of image.
We do not use your data for automated decision making or profiling.

Photographs and video from the tournament

The tournament is photographed and filmed. Two situations are treated differently in law:

General images of games, halls, stands and ceremonies, where no individual is the focus, are published on the basis of our legitimate interest in documenting and promoting a sporting event. You can object to this at any time.
Portraits and images where an individual player is clearly recognisable and singled out, used to promote the tournament, are published only with consent. For players under 18 that consent is given by a parent or guardian, not by the club and not by the coach.
Consent is voluntary. A player without consent takes part on equal terms, we simply will not feature them in promotional posts.
Consent can be withdrawn at any time, without giving a reason, by writing to info@adriabasketball.com. After withdrawal we remove the post from our channels within a reasonable time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of publication before it.
We publish on the tournament website and on the tournament Facebook and Instagram pages, and video on the tournament YouTube channel.

Who we share it with

We share data only with those who need it to run the tournament:

GAT d.o.o. travel agency, Medulin, as the package organiser, in order to book accommodation.
Plava Laguna d.d., as the provider of accommodation in the Zelena Laguna resort.
The Croatian Basketball Federation and the referee organisation, for the part concerning the competition itself.
Formspree, as a processor that technically forwards form submissions to our address.
Meta and Google, as the platforms where we publish tournament content.
We do not sell your data and we do not pass it to anyone for third party marketing.

Transfers outside the European Economic Area

Some of our service providers are based in the United States, chiefly Formspree for the form and Meta and Google for posts and video.

Transfers take place under the European Commission standard contractual clauses, or under the adequacy decision for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, depending on the provider.
The YouTube video on this site loads only when you start it yourself. Until then YouTube sets no cookies and receives no data about you.

How long we keep it

Registration data is kept while we prepare and run the edition it relates to, and for one year afterwards, for any complaints and to prepare the next edition.

Invoices and related records are kept for 11 years, as required by the Croatian Accounting Act.
Photographs and video published with consent are kept until that consent is withdrawn.
Once these periods end we delete the data or anonymise it permanently.

Your rights

In relation to your personal data you have the right to:

ask for access to the data we hold about you and a copy of it,
ask for inaccurate data to be corrected or incomplete data completed,
ask for erasure, where there is no longer a basis for keeping it,
ask for processing to be restricted,
ask for your data to be transferred to another controller,
object to processing based on legitimate interest, including publication of general images,
withdraw consent at any time.
Send your request to info@adriabasketball.com. We reply within one month at the latest.

Complaint to a supervisory authority

If you believe our processing breaches the rules, you can contact a supervisory authority.

In Croatia that is the Personal Data Protection Agency (AZOP), Selska cesta 136, 10000 Zagreb, azop.hr.
If you live in another country of the European Economic Area, you can also complain to the supervisory authority of your own country.
